Where is the wedding?
Both the ceremony and reception will be hosted at the Phoenix Zoo.
When do I RSVP?
Please RSVP on the "RSVP" page of this site by January 4. If you have any trouble, please email planning@gardeniawed.com.
Do I really need to RSVP?
Yes! We need formal responses from everyone, even if you have already told us you’re planning to attend. This is so that our wedding planner can capture your dietary restrictions, accommodation needs, etc.
I don’t see the RSVP page!
If you are not seeing the RSVP page on the wedding website, that likely means that you are early or late to the RSVP party. The RSVP page will open once formal invitations go out around October and will close after the RSVP deadline on January 4. If you are within this window, please email our planner at planning@gardeniawed.com to see if maybe there is an error with the website. If you are looking before the open date, just check back after you receive your formal invitation. If you are looking after the close date, please email our planner at planning@gardeniawed.com to see if it would be possible to squeeze you in.
Can I bring a plus one?
When you go to the RSVP page online, it will note whether or not we were able to allot a plus one. We are limiting additional guests to ensure we are celebrating with our closest friends and family. We also have to consider the venue's allowed capacity. If there is someone you would really like to bring, please reach out to us far in advance from the wedding date. There will not be extra seating for unexpected guests.
The guest on my invite can't come, can I bring someone else instead?
Please check with us first, especially if we don’t personally know the guest you would be bringing instead.
Are children allowed?
Your child(ren) should be included within your invitation on the RSVP page. If they are not, please let us know as soon as possible so we can make arrangements if possible. We kindly ask that you do not just show up with them as we need to provide our vendors with accurate guest counts beforehand.
I originally declined, but now I’m available! Can I still come?
That’s so great! If the RSVP page is still live on the website, you can simply change your RSVP response there. If the RSVP page is closed, please email our wedding planner at planning@gardeniawed.com to confirm if the additional seat can still be added.
What if I can no longer attend?
We totally understand that life happens, but if you need to cancel, we kindly ask that you email our wedding planner at planning@gardeniawed.com instead of texting us directly. As the big day gets closer, we’ll be juggling a lot, and receiving last-minute texts can feel a little overwhelming. Our planner will make sure everything gets updated on the backend. Feel free to reach out to us after the wedding—we’d still love to hear from you then!
What should I wear?
We are requesting semi-formal attire. Because we understand “semi-formal” can mean different things to different people, feel free to reference this curated Pinterest board: https://bit.ly/3YFdo1q. There is a bit of walking involved at the venue so please keep that in mind when planning your footwear.
Please avoid casual attire such as tank tops, flip flops, sandals, and shorts. Please also remember to avoid wearing white, cream, or ivory dresses or suits.
How is parking?
There is a complimentary self-parking lot at the venue. However, if you plan to celebrate with a few adult beverages throughout the night, we strongly encourage using a rideshare service such as Uber or Lyft.
What’s the bar situation?
We are happy to provide an open bar throughout the majority of the reception! Later in the evening, the bar will transition to self-pay. We do recommend bringing cash as well as your ID.
Can I bring my own alcohol?
No! We will be charged a fine if any outside alcohol is brought to the venue.
Is smoking allowed?
Smoking is not allowed at the venue. This includes cigarettes, cigars, marijuana, and vape pens. Please be respectful of this rule as a violation could result in us paying a fee.
Is there a hotel block?
Information regarding travel accommodations can be found on the “travel” page of the wedding website.
Where is your wedding registry?
We have decided against a formal wedding registry. Your presence is gift enough!
How can I help keep your stress level low?
Thanks so much for asking! We already know you love us but here are some small things that would really go a long way in keeping our stress level as low as possible.
1. Please try to avoid texting us questions the week of the wedding. Instead, please email our wedding planner at planning@gardeniawed.com. On the wedding day itself, you can call or text our planner at 602-529-3430.
2. Please do not bring anyone that was not included on your invitation. There will not be extra seats or plates for unexpected guests and turning them away is a situation no one would enjoy.
3. We’re so excited to celebrate with all of you and can’t wait to take plenty of photos throughout the day! That said, we’re hoping to stay present and enjoy the moment, especially once the dancing starts, so we are hoping to not be constantly pulled for selfies throughout the evening.
4. Please don’t break any of the venue’s rules (or their property)! We are contractually responsible for all of our guests and so we could potentially be charged a fee if any of the venue’s rules are broken or property is damaged.
5. Please do not take photos or use your phone during the ceremony. We have a professional photographer who will be capturing all of the beautiful moments, and a cell phone is a very unsightly photobomb. Please also do not bring any sort of professional camera or block the photographer. Although cellphone photos are welcome during reception, we kindly ask that you not post photos of us on social media until after we have shared ours.
6. We’d love to hug each and every one of you goodbye—but if we’re on the dance floor or caught in the chaos of the moment, feel free to quietly slip out without saying goodbye. We promise we won’t take it personally, and we’ll catch up after the wedding!
7. Please do not arrive extremely early (45+ minutes). Arriving significantly early will cause us to be hidden away sooner than planned, shortening our time for any pre-ceremony photos.
8. Please do not wear white! A white button up/down top paired with pants is fine, but please no white, cream, or ivory dresses or suits. Please also avoid dressing casually such as tank tops, sandals, shorts, etc.
I have more questions!
Please email our wedding planner at planning@gardeniawed.com.
What time is the wedding?
The ceremony will start right at 6:00pm. Please plan to arrive around 5:30pm to allow enough time for parking and walking to the ceremony site.
